Western Pacific Rattlesnake

Yikes! I went to get the mail yesterday and who do I see but this rattlesnake. You can tell it is a juvenile because it only has two buttons. It didn't coil up or shake its tail at me or Brutus. You can see a lizard tail sticking out of its mouth. By the time I had called Brad and asked him what to do, got the camera, and then a shovel, the little fella had already moved on.
So from now on I will be sure to watch where I step now knowing he is out there and won't be sticking my hands into any plants to pull weeds anytime soon.
